Welcome to Tanzania and the beginning of your Tanzania safari with Sunlife Tours. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Sunlife Tours representative and privately transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Located at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania’s famous Northern Safari Circuit and the starting point for journeys to Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a relaxed afternoon or evening at your hotel after your flight. You can rest, enjoy the hotel facilities or explore a little of the city if time allows. Your safari guide will brief you about the upcoming journey, including the route, destinations, daily game drives and practical arrangements. After breakfast, depart Arusha and begin your Northern Tanzania safari towards Tarangire National Park. Known for its impressive elephant population, ancient baobab trees and diverse landscapes, Tarangire offers an exciting introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. After entering the park, enjoy your first game drive through open grasslands, woodland and seasonal wetlands surrounding the Tarangire River. During the safari, look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelopes and numerous bird species. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may also encounter lions and other predators. Your professional Sunlife Tours guide will follow current wildlife activity and select routes that provide good opportunities for viewing and photography. Enjoy lunch during the safari before continuing your exploration. Later, leave Tarangire and proceed towards Karatu, where you will enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening.

After an early breakfast in Karatu, depart towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue to the crater. Descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting morning game drive across its wildlife-rich floor. The crater’s grasslands, woodland and wetlands support an impressive concentration of wildlife, creating opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and numerous antelope species. With luck, you may also have the opportunity to spot the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your crater safari before ascending and continuing towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape gradually opens into vast plains where wildlife can often be seen along the route. Continue with an en-route game drive as you make your way towards camp, arriving later in the day for dinner and a relaxing evening in the wilderness.

Wake up in the heart of Serengeti National Park and prepare for a full day of exceptional wildlife viewing. After breakfast, set out with your private Sunlife Tours safari guide to explore the vast Serengeti plains, woodland areas and wildlife-rich habitats. With no long-distance transfer scheduled today, the day is dedicated entirely to game viewing, allowing you to spend more time following wildlife activity and exploring different areas of the park. Search for large herds of wildebeest and zebra together with gazelles, giraffes, elephants, buffalo and other wildlife. The Serengeti is also famous for its predators, and your guide will carefully look for lions, cheetahs and leopards while monitoring recent sightings and seasonal wildlife movements. Depending on the time of year and your location, you may also encounter wildlife associated with the Great Wildebeest Migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon safari and returning to camp later in the day.

Rise early for your final Serengeti wildlife safari and enjoy one last opportunity to explore the legendary plains before beginning your journey back towards Arusha. An early morning game drive can provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife as the day begins, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and other animals. Enjoy the changing light across the Serengeti landscape while your guide searches for wildlife along the route. After the morning game drive, continue towards the park exit and begin the long journey back to Arusha through the scenic landscapes of Northern Tanzania. Lunch will be provided during the journey. Depending on your onward travel arrangements, you may arrive in Arusha later in the afternoon or evening.
